About

Hi, I’m Katrina. I’m so glad you’re here.

If you’ve landed here, you may be looking for a space where you don’t have to hold it all together: a space to be understood, supported, and a little less alone.

You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck in patterns that keep repeating, or disconnected from yourself after difficult experiences. Many people who come to therapy have spent years carrying pain quietly, trying to manage on their own, or wondering why things still feel so hard.

Trauma-informed therapy in Santa Monica

How I work

I’m Katrina Neville, an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist. I specialize in trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, burnout, and nervous system regulation.

As a therapist, I aim to create a steady, supportive environment where you feel safe, respected, and genuinely seen. My work is grounded in unconditional positive regard, cultural humility, and deep respect for the whole person: your history, your strengths, and the parts of you that are still hurting.

My approach is relational, warm, and down-to-earth. You’re invited to show up exactly as you are, with space for honesty, depth, and even humor when it feels right. I believe meaningful healing happens through emotional safety and authentic human connection.

Using EMDR, somatic approaches, and experiential therapies, I help clients process trauma, regulate their nervous systems, and reconnect with their inner strength and clarity. Together, we identify patterns that no longer serve you, explore how earlier experiences shape present struggles, and build tools for emotional regulation, resilience, and connection.

Many forms of “stuckness” are rooted in a dysregulated nervous system: our protective parts trying to keep us safe through anxiety, shutdown, anger, fear, or overwhelm. Therapy offers a space where those parts can be understood rather than pushed away, allowing healing to happen at a deeper level.

Clients often come to me feeling exhausted, hopeless, or unsure how to move forward. My goal is to help you move beyond survival patterns and build a life that feels more grounded, authentic, and aligned.

I see this work as an honor and a privilege. Being trusted with someone’s story, pain, and healing is something I never take lightly.

Therapy with me is collaborative and relational. You don’t need perfect words, and you don’t have to perform or pretend. We explore what’s true for you, gently uncover what’s been getting in the way, and reconnect you with your own inner clarity.

I will always meet you with compassion and respect, and when the time is right, I also believe in gently challenging clients toward growth. That might mean reflecting patterns, naming blind spots with care, and supporting brave steps toward the life you truly want.

Respect for the whole person

Every person is equal in dignity

My approach is rooted in trust, warmth, and unconditional positive regard. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel deeply respected as a whole person, not reduced to symptoms or labels.

Having lived abroad and worked alongside people from many cultures and backgrounds, I hold a strong belief that every person is equal in dignity and deserving of care, understanding, and compassion.

Healing happens in relationship, in spaces where we feel seen, safe, and supported. My role is not to tell you who you are, but to walk alongside you as you reconnect with your own truth, strengths, and direction.
